National Student Research Conference - Abstract Submission Extended 15 September

A&A Conducts Module 1 (Developing Action Research Plans for Continuous Improvement) of its Seminar-Workshop Series on Promoting Substantive Pedagogy through Action Research
The first module of the seminar-workshop series on promoting substantive pedagogy was successfully conducted last April, 2016. A total of 369 teacher-researchers were trained by our foreign and local resource persons and facilitators. About 80% of them consists of Schools Division Superintendent (SDS), Education Program Specialists (EPS), district supervisors, principals, school heads, teachers, and other personnel and staff of the Department of Education. There were also participants from State and Private colleges and universities who are academic administrators (vice presidents, research directors, deans, and department chairs) and faculty members. Interestingly, the seminar-workshop was also attended by officers and personnel of local government units and Philippine National Police. <<<01May2016>>>

Prof. William "Bill" Atweh, PhD
Dr. Bill is the author of the book “Action Research in Practice” among seven other refereed edited books from top international academic publishers such as Lawrence Erlbaum, Springer, and Routledge. Dr. Bill has published over a hundred refereed journal articles, conference papers, commissioned reports, and textbooks. His main interest is educational research, specifically on sociocultural aspects of education and action research for teachers’ professional development. He spent 25 years as professor at Queensland University of Technology in Australia and as visiting professor to various Universities worldwide.
Prof. Maricar "Bing" Prudente, PhD
is the 2015 Top 2 Filipino Scientist (among other global citations and awards),
a distinction made by Google Scholar based on publication citations. Dr. Bing
has published numerous high impact research articles in ISI and Scopus Indexed
academic Journals in the field of Chemistry and Science Education. She is also
the 2015 Achievement Awardee of the National Research Council of the
Philippines (NRCP). She is currently a Full Professor 10 at De La Salle
University (DLSU), chair of the Science Education Department of DLSU, and
Director of the Lasallian Institute for Development and Educational Research
(LIDER), the host research institute of Action Research, Action Learning (ARAL)
in the Philippines.
A&A Vows to Help Build a Community of Teacher-Researchers
A&A commits to help build a community of teacher-researchers whose members are empowered and actively engaged in the systematic examination of teaching practices. The community aims to continuously effect positive change and improve learning outcomes in the Philippines. A Facebook group Philippine Action Research Community was created in order for its members to have an online platform to discuss issues and progress of action research projects and activities. The group also serves as a file sharing facility for members especially on trends and best practices of Action Research, as well as depository of workshop outputs during trainings. The slides and materials used by the seminar-workshop speakers and facilitators and samples of action research plans and reports are also uploaded to this group. Request to join this group is screened by the admin of the group. All registered participants of A&A's Action Research Seminar-Workshop series are automatically qualified to join the group. <<<18April2016>>>
A&A President Attends the 2016 International Conference on Education in Jakarta, Indonesia
The president of A&A Knowledge Base Research Consultancy and Training Inc., Dr. Socorro E. Aguja, attended and presented research papers during the 2016 International Conference on Education (ICOED 2016) held last April 12-14, 2016 at Harris Convention Centre, Jakarta, Indonesia. ICOED focuses on the development and utilisation of cutting-edge technology related to Education. The conference provides a platform where researchers, professionals, academicians, and industries share and generate forum of the trends in the field of Education. Papers accepted and presented in this conference are published in Advanced Science Letters of the American Scientific Publishers, a Scopes-Indexed journal. In this photo, Dr. Aguja is joined by her co-authors in one of the papers she presented in the conference, Prof. Maricar Prudente of DLSU, Jovito Anito Jr., and Pamela Rubi. Anito, Prudente, Aguja, and Rubi presented a study that introduces "playing with equations" as a technique used by Engineering students in solving Physics problems. <<<14April2016>>>
